Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook.
President Bush -- addressed the Business and Industry Association in Manchester, focusing on his 2-point-7 trillion dollar budget -- which he sent to Congress on Monday.
Here to talk about the selling of the President's Budget: Dante Scala, with the NH Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College, and Andy Smith of the UNH Survey Center.

Q ANDY/DANTE: First, his Overall Impression of his address -- and why NH?
Q ANDY: Latest TIME poll puts President Bush's approval rating at just 41%.
Washington POST Poll has him at 42%.
LOWEST since Richard Nixon.
Do NH's numbers mirror those?
Q Budget calls for a large MILITARY BUILD-UP for what's become an increasingly UNPOPULAR war.
His LOW approval numbers invite Comparisons to Lyndon Johnson --who dealt with similiar plummeting numbers from the Vietnam War.

We had a good show considering how quickly we had to put it together. The only thing that stood out was the lighting on the guests. Andy seemed dark and not as crisp on Camera 2 than Dante did on 1. But we seemed to tweak it as we went along and it seemed better but not perfect.
Also, the white papers on the desk made Andy dark on the wide shots. We are looking into different color papers or some other alternative to correct the problem.
